Consultation to Color: Daniel Mora & Zach Mesquit’s Formula for Results Clients Want
- Hair Color
Blonding Officer
From going to Sally’s to buy hair color so he could experiment on his own hair
pre-beauty school (there were many failures before success) to now being one of the highest regarded hair colorists in the world, Zach Mesquit has always been trying new things. A true artist, Zach loves color and was drawn to pure blonde early on which tracks with his personality of being self-driven for excellence and pushing creative boundaries - everyone in the hair industry knows that extreme blond is the hardest hair color to achieve. The industry soon took notice and his loyal fans are as committed to his work as the jealous “rats” who unsuccessfully try to antagonize him. His brand Platinum Perfection is aptly named. He is known for using the rats’ comments as content, showing Zach’s mischievous and sarcastic side.
For over nine years, Zach Mesquit has worked on his own without assistants. He is notoriously committed to controlling his work. He has no desire to have a large salon with staff. Like his personality, he values the focus and personal service he gives to his clients (he has a three year waiting list). Everyone is unique but its fair to say that Zach is a unicorn. His clients are unicorns as well - they stand out, they get attention and they don’t apologize for it. “If I can’t find something I want,” says Zach, “I make it my mission to create it.” This happened with his creating the formulas and techniques for ultimate blondes and other unique, bold colors and again a year ago when he founded Luster Lengths, his own hair extension line. He couldn’t find any extension brand that had the hair quality that could meet his high standards, so after extensive research, he created his own technique and source for the best hair extensions. “My clients deserve the best and I will give them nothing less,” says Zach. Zach has worked with brands including Bellami and Wella Professional (National Ambassador for over four years).
His inquisitive nature and desire to be creative keeps him seeking new projects. He enjoys painting, jewelry making, clay metal work and interior design.
When he isn’t in his salon, Zach is eating at great restaurants, antiquing and traveling the world with his best friend/wife Lauren or caring for his many pets including dogs, Koi fish, tarantulas (8 of them), bearded dragons, and who knows what will be next. His love of animals is endless and he and his wife have recently begun fostering dogs. Bold in appearance and work, Zach is kind and humble in person, only adding to his mystique as an individual.
