Michelle O’Connor is an Artistic Lead, Creative Director, educator, and industry visionary with over 20 years of experience shaping services-driven storytelling within the professional beauty industry. Her work focuses on translating trend forecasting into education-forward creative that scales across brands, retail, media, and live industry platforms.
A six-time North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA) winner, Michelle currently serves as the Ulta Beauty Artist Collective Artistic Lead and is a member of the Ulta Beauty Pro Team, collaborating with Services, Education, and Creative leadership to support trend development, stylist education, and brand representation. Her work with Ulta Beauty includes on-stage education at America’s Beauty Show, Premiere Orlando, and BTC, participation in national holiday campaigns, and collaborative marketing initiatives designed to elevate the professional stylist community.
Michelle also serves as a Global Artistic Director for Matrix, a founding ambassador for L’Oréal’s Texture of Change initiative, and an ambassador for Pattern Beauty, where she continues to advocate for textured hair education, inclusivity, and representation across the beauty industry.
Known for her innovative approach to education and artistry, Michelle’s experience spans fashion, media, television, and consumer-facing platforms. Her work includes collaborations on Project Runway, broadcast appearances, and live shopping events with Dyson and HSN. In 2025, she became a contributing columnist for SalonEvo, sharing insight on education, trends, leadership, and the evolving role of the modern stylist.
